Currency benefit for international senders using UTBox
The dramatic shift in the value of the Australian dollar over recent months has further strengthened UTBox’s position as the market leader in reliable, cost-efficient fax broadcasting solutions. UTBox prides itself in providing its fax broadcasting customers with the most highly-competitive pricing that is available within Australia or overseas.
UTBox’s data centre is located in Sydney, NSW, which enables us to tightly control our own infrastructure. Being based in Australia means that we are billed in Australian dollars by our suppliers and therefore bill our clients in Australian dollars as well. Customers changing from an overseas fax broadcasting provider to using UTBox will no longer have to worry about foreign network reliability issues, currency fluctuations, or trying to speak with their fax broadcasting supplier during Australian business hours.
Since mid-July of 2008, the Australian dollar has dropped nearly 35% (as of the 26th of February, 2009) against the U.S. dollar. These currency shifts cause great difficulties for Australian companies using overseas providers to send their fax documents. Clients of these Australian companies are usually billed in Australian dollars, which means that with every fall in the Australian dollar their margins are negatively affected.
To help demonstrate this point more clearly, please look at the example below. Column A is a U.S. Fax Provider charging USD $0.04 per fax for sending 100,000 faxes per month. Column B is UTBox which is priced at AUD $0.045 per fax for 100,000 sent pages per month.
| Cost of sending 100,000 pages of fax | Average US fax provider | UTBox | Price Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rate | USD 0.04 | AUD 0.045* | |
| July 2008 Exchange Rate ($AUD) | $4061.33 | $4500 | -$438.67 |
| February 2009 Exchange Rate ($AUD) | $6186.21 | $4500 | $1686.21 |
As is demonstrated in the table, though there may have been a short-term price advantage by using an overseas provider in the middle of 2008, any pricing advantage quickly eroded. Under this pricing example, it would now cost nearly $1,700 a month more to use an overseas fax provider.
It’s quite apparent why more and more companies are choosing UTBox to handle all their faxing requirements.
