SMS Broadcasting
SMS broadcasting can be achieved by utilising your email client's distribution list functionality.
The first step in organising an SMS broadcast is to prepare the number list. To prepare an SMS list for SMS broadcasting you must concatenate the numbers to "@sms.utbox.net".
For example: 61404555666@sms.utbox.net
If you already have a complete list of mobile phone numbers, and would like to concatenate your list with "@sms.utbox.net" simply download the SMS broadcasting spreadsheet below and follow the next few steps:
Once you have downloaded the above spreadsheet, you must enter in all your numbers to column A, ensuring the formula in column C is working for each line.
Once you have completed this copy the column C (numbers which have "@sms.utbox.net" appended to them) to clipboard (i.e. select it, Edit > Copy)
In Outlook 2007:
Proceed to click "File" > "New" > "Distribution List".
Give the list an appropriate name, and click "Select Members" to continue.
Paste Column C into the "Members - >" text field down the bottom of the page (right click Paste or Ctrl-V). Click "OK" to proceed.
To finish organising the distribution list click "Save & Close".
Open a new email and type in the name of the list, it should complete for you once you press enter. Alternatively you can open a new email and click the "To..." button, select "Contacts" under the "Address Book" filter.
Congratulations! You have now prepared an SMS broadcast. Simply send the email to commence SMS broadcasting.
